We’re flipping for these two-sided boards
designed by Brooklynites Tammer Hijazi
and Danny Giannella. The colorful side –
inspired by geometric prisms and painted
with nontoxic paint – has a decorative
three-dimensional appearance, while the
natural side – perfectly flat – offers total
function. The Square Prism board is maple.
We are smitten with the story behind Ryan Silverman and Eileen O’Dea’s wood
shop. In a nutshell, California woodworker who renovates celebrity homes in
Hollywood meets chef/yogi; courts her with handmade wooden objects, one of
which is a cutting board; they fall in love; start a business; and later marry. And
we are also taken with their limited-edition footed Boardwalk board, perfectly
nostalgic, made from reclaimed planks from the Atlantic City boardwalk.
