Bose Quiet Comfort 15
The Bose headphones folded up into the
smallest carrying case of the group. The
carrying case is small enough to fit in small
carry-on bags and even some purses.
The QC 15 was the most comfortable of
the three. The ear pads are soft and there is
plenty of room for ears of all sizes.
The sound of these headphones can be
characterized as being more “polite.” The
sound is not in your face like the Beats.
The bass response is also toned down. The
channel separation is not as apparent as
it is with the PSBs, with all of the sound
fighting for space in the middle of your
ears. These headphones are also not as
good at staging the sound as the PSB
Classical Music Listening
Because of their laid-back sound
presentation, listening to classical music
through these headphones is certainly
soothing. There is good detail and no one
instrument is overpowering the next. It’s
all very well-balanced, and a good choice
for this type of music.
Rock, Pop and Dance Listening
As the music becomes more dynamic,
you will find these headphones don’t
come alive like the others, and overall will
be less involving.
The presentation of these headphones, like with classical music, is
pleasing. It does not reveal the subtleties found in better recordings, and
the lack of sound staging tends to blend instruments together.
The Ideal Listener:
The frequent traveler who values comfort, good
noise isolation and easy packing over all else.
